Claudio Bravo breaks record

247feeds.blogspot_Claudio Bravo has broken Pedro Maria Artola's shutout record / FCB
Pedro Maria Artola knew his record would be broken. The ex-Barça goalkeeper set the record in 1978 when he went the first 560 minutes of the season through six weeks of La Liga play without giving up a goal.  Today, 37 years later, his record has been broken by Claudio Bravo.
Bravo has played exceedingly well, and had another shutout today versusRayo Vallencano. Although it's interesting to look at Bravo's great numbers, it is now time to take a look back in history.

Historic beginning

The 1977-78 season started off well with a strong defensive team. They went the first six matches without conceding a goal. They beat Real Sociedad (1-0), Betis (0-0), Athletic Club (0-0), Atletico Madrid (1-0), Cadiz (0-2) and Racing (3-0). But in the 20th minute of the seventh match versus Hercules, Pedro Andres Verde finally broke through against Barça.

Seven shutouts

The new record stands at 630 minutes and counting.Through the first seven La Liga matches, Bravo has showed an outstanding ability to adapt to Luis Enrique's defensive system. His play has been a key factor in the team's success so far this year.
